Update:
Nintendo's Facebook post specifies this bundle as exclusive to Amazon, GameStop and Fry's Electronics (thanks for the heads up @Ryno). The bundle is already a 'best seller' and sold out on Amazon and GameStop, the latter of which includes an 'ultimate' set with the Prima strategy guide. Based on social network post timings these sell-outs happened within a couple of hours; hopefully demand will actually bring more stock, especially as an official release date hasn't even been given. We shall see soon enough.
Original Article:
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D was an exciting reveal in the final Nintendo Direct of 2014. In development since 2011, there's understandable optimism that - like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D - it'll do an admirable job of upgrading the Nintendo 64 classic for the current-gen portable.
With that announcement last year, European gamers were also treated to the news of an attractive special edition that includes a steelbook case, poster and pin badge; unfortunately no equivalent was announced for North America. The positive news is that a limited-edition special bundle has now been announced for NA; pictured below, it will come with a Skull Kid figurine and have a recommended price of $49.99.
It'll come out the same day as the normal edition - which is yet to be dated - with the standalone game having the usual recommended price of $39.99; $10 for the figurine and box, then. We think it looks rather tempting.
No release date is forthcoming yet, and the pre-order links for Amazon and Best Buy on the official website are still only showing the standard edition.
Are any of you in North America tempted to pick up this limited edition?

that looks really cool. but now im going to have to spend $100 on this game so i can have 1 to keep boxed and another to play.
Oh. I thought it was a "New 3DS" + game bundle. Still, for $10 more, it's a steal. But if it's another World Of Nintendo NY exclusive like with MK8, I'll be POed.
Not amiibo skull kid?
Very neat, definitely a treat for the NA fans.
As a collector, this really excites me! It'll be awesome to have a Skull Kid for the shelf.
@BensonUii - Beat me to it by 36 seconds
"it will come with a Skull Kid figurine"
I'm down with this. He'll go right with my Ganondorf figure from the Wind Waker HD bundle thingy.
NoA finally decides to sell a special edition of a game, and it's a damn N64 game.
Open palm, insert face.
@StarDust4Ever - Yeah, that's what I thought too. I guess it would make too much sense for Nintnedo to launch a new 3DS alongside a game people have been clamoring for and bundle them together. Though I suppose it could still happen I only want an XL though.
I hope it would not be gamestop or new york store exclusive.
I wonder if this is the same shenanigan NOA always pulls: having the Limited Edition being super limited i.e. just selling at their NY store.
In any case they make a special edition for a game I don't care about. I know I would have easily paid for that Bayo 2 SE Europe got.
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET
What I really want is a New 3DS XL bundle. I'm not exactly optimistic, but hey, a man can dream.
Yeah, I'd rather have a New 3DS bundle.
@sinalefa Based on the PR it'll be available nationwide, as they specify when it's only the New York store. As for quantity, I hope there's a decent volume.
I'm not a huge Zelda fan but it's nice to see NOA give some love to it's customers. I'm still healing from the lack of the Bayonetta LE bundle here.
As a Nintendo fan living in the U.K, I'm glad that the U.S will be getting the better special edition compared to here, as more people will likely buy it there than here...
well I wish we had what you all got but this is still very nice!!
@StarDust4Ever New Nintendo 3DS would have a rocket start if they did a New Nintendo 3DS bundle with Majora's Mask 3D and Majora's Mask inspired faceplates and launched the game and the system on the exact same day...
Will the euro special edition be for sale on Amazon.co.uk?
Last time I looked it was sold out but not sure if that's people selling it or Amazon.
We need release dates Nintendo!
@EJzelda Launched on the same day and with Majora's Mask faceplates and one extra set of different designed Majora's Mask faceplates included???
Yesss!!
Yesss!!
Glad to see NoA giving out some love to their loyal fans over the pond I still prefer my Steelbook though. It can go next to my Alpha Sapphire Steelbook and figure.
I'm not normally into special editions but this is one I could get into. Need to see that figure first before taking the plunge. If it's crappy, forget it.
I will get it!
YESSS finally another collectors we can get.
I would love to get this just hoping to god this isn't another Nintendo world exclusive because I really dont wanna go down to the city...thats why I missed out on hyrule warriors and mk8 collectors editions.
Instabuy.
Sweet! I'll take it if it's $40-$50.
@ThomasBW84
Thanks for that. They should do that with all SE.
Tempting, but nah. I bite on CEs for artbooks and soundtracks, not figurines.
Good price point though, for those who are into it!
@Quorthon Well, the last game they could have had a special edition for was a GBA game
It's about time we get a special edition that Europe doesn't get.
@Thomas - Only US then?
@Quorthon I don't see a problem with them offering a special edition of an N64 remake. Fans have been begging for this game for years, and Zelda fans tend to be big collectors, so why not offer them something special for the dirt cheap cost of just $10 more? It's not really meant to bring in a bunch more console sales, but more fan service that fans will indeed appreciate. I think it's a nice gesture.
@ericwithcheese2 Some people are just never happy...
remind me of this one
http://www.first4figures.com/component/option,com_myphp/Itemid,3/product,46/
I would rather have the steelbook.
"Are any of you in North America tempted to pick up this limited edition?" I am now!
@Quorthon Special editions of old games makes more sense. It gives people who already own the original or have already played the original more incentive to buy the new re-master.
Oh Thank God. Not up for pre-order on gamestop yet..... or Amazon or Best Buy.... hope Canada opens it soon.
Seems like I been tempted to get a physical copy again due to LE bundle. Well at least it'll stay consistent with my physical 3ds Ocarina of Time. Maybe later after work I'll check to see if Nintendo World is taking pre-orders.
Seems weird that I'm so tempted to buy a remake of a game I already own two times (N64 & Wii VC).
I'll pass
I'd consider springing for it, no doubt.
If this is exclusive to the Nintendo World Store, I swear....
Good for NOA, as for release date... I've seen a couple of sites with place holders for early February (around 15th if I remember correctly). I hope it is then. Now a special edition 3ds would be cool too, a man can hope though ;D
@Shadowkiller97 (And @ericwithcheese2, for that matter.)
That really doesn't make more sense. It sends the message that "the best thing we made was years ago."
Given your avatar, I can't help but wonder if you're a little biased on this.
My broader point is that they (NoA) have released games with actual special editions worth celebrating--like Bayonetta 2 and Mario Kart 8--but continue to fail to deliver those special editions to the public. Then, when they finally do, it's for a game that's 15 years old.
That's just sad. They should be celebrating their major new games with that kind of care. I buy a lot of special and collector's editions. I even have one of the Kingdoms of Amalur special editions, and that had to be ordered direct from EA and Big Huge Games.
But I am not going to be tricked into buying this unnecessary remake. There are much better looking special editions for upcoming PS4 games that can have my money. Actual new games like Bloodborne and The Order: 1886.
Suffice to say, if this gets a limited edition bundle and Xenoblade Chronicles X does not, that will be extremely disappointing. It may also be further evidence that Nintendo is lazily banking on nostalgia and their core fanbase rather than attempting to grow the company or appeal to wider audiences.
And you say NoA never does anything for the fans Have a limited edition figurine AND order it from anywhere! Even Europe did not get that luxury...
I'd rather have the steelbook case and pin, but suspect I'll be in the minority.
Looks nice, but until we actually find out about availability I'm not giving NoA any props. That Villager Amiibo looked nice too, and the Hyrule scarf, and the Gannondorf statue, and the Kid Icarus cards... All were "available" in North America but I've never seen any in person outside of the single pack of KI cards offered through Club Nintendo.
I'll let everyone else scrabble for the limited editions; I just want the freakin' game.
THANK YOU NINTENDO!!!!!!
That it, im mad. Why are USA getting cool skull kid figurine and we are just getting some stupit stuff >
@StarDust4Ever Why'd you have to speak that? lol
@Quorthon I agree, they should be celebrating new games and franchises. But this game clearly has a very rabid fanbase, and the edition speaks mainly to them. So I don't see a problem with it at all.
The special edition is up for pre-order on my amazon app as of this writing.
Oh my god I neeeeeed it.
Normally I would get the original but the Amiibo craze has me enjoying figurines around my house. I may get this for the unique skull kid figurine as I am a massive Zelda fan. I've got Link and Zelda amiibos and Shiek and Toon Link pre-ordered. This Skull kid will make a nice addition to the group. I just need a Gannondorf amiibo, now!!!
Never got to play Majora's Mask, so I'm looking forward to this version.
I hope the Limited Edition will be available at GameStop or Best Buy.
I want it!!
Gamestop has it up for pre-order... even though I despise GS.
http://www.gamestop.com/nintendo-3ds/games/the-legend-of-zelda-majoras-mask-limited-edition-bundle/119692
10 dollars more for a box and toy? I don't know.
I MIGHT get it, if it comes out in time for my Birthday, like I was hoping MM3D itself was. While I want the Artbook more, I'd still take a figurine.
Neat!
While I'm in no doubt that the statue is going to be high in quality, I'm not too upset about missing out on it in the UK cause I have a skull kid statue from first4figures which is top notch!
Oh my god. For $10 that figurine is a steal! Finally NoA gives us something interesting! I'm so sick of pins and keychains!
@JohnBgon I'm really hoping we don't find out that it's GS exclusive.
That place is seriously the worst and I will sadly miss out on this if it is.
@ericwithcheese2
I don't think it has a rabid fanbase as much as a lout minority and a bunch of kids who got an Ocarina remake so they immediately decided they deserved this as well. Much of this completely disregards, ignores, or is blatantly ignorant of the following:
1. Outside of Zelda II, this is the most disliked and unpopular Zelda game ever made.
2. This game changes the Zelda formula more than any other (a reason I have loved it), which has not been met kindly by the core Zelda fans.
3. It reviewed and sold worse than Ocarina of Time.
4. It is the opposite of a typical Zelda game where the focus is on exploring labyrinths to making the primary focus of this one overworld side-quests. There are only 4 dungeons.
5. It is notably about the hardest Zelda game ever made.
6. It is starkly darker than any other Zelda game.
7. The time mechanic made the ample side-quests unusually challenging as they were almost all time-sensitive.
8. The game is already available and playable on the N64, GameCube, Wii, and Wii U. The remake alone was already ridiculously unnecessary and the only reason to want it is to suddenly pretend graphics matter.
This was not a popular game. It was loved by the few of us that bought it years ago as the N64 was in it's death throes, but it was hated by far more. It has a loud minority, and I'm quite certain that many who are waiting for this have not played it, have no idea what they're really in for, and will not like it.
It was a good game in it's day, but Nintendo putting so much effort into it is nothing but folly. This will appeal to only a small audience, and a chunk of that audience has no idea what they're in for.
It's sad that Nintendo is putting so much fanfare on such an old and unpopular game. They need to be putting this effort into selling their new games and showing off their current hardware and software. All this does is convince those against Nintendo that they are continuing to live in the past and there is nothing new to offer.
It's nice that NoA is finally releasing a special/limited/collector's edition of something, it's just disappointing that it's to celebrate a full-priced remake instead of any of their more important new games. Outside of Microsoft with Halo 1, most other companies have enough respect for their fans to package HD remakes together in sets, not to charge full price for them all over again. Pretty much all of Sony's HD upgrades on the PS3/PS4/Vita have been in bundles or budget prices.
Zelda fans are easy to please. Nintendo could write "Zelda" on an empty box and the fans would defend it and pay top dollar for it. I'm not going to convince those who want nothing more than continued yearly Zelda releases (while foolishly and frequently arguing to pretend that there aren't Zelda games released yearly), but the point is that this is disappointing all around. The 3DS and Wii U need their hit exclusives and major titles. If the best these platforms can do is remakes and ports and barely evolved sequels (MK8), then these consoles are worthless.
I said the same thing to other Vita owners who championed Persona 4 on the system. If the best the Vita could do was a remake of a PS2 game, then the Vita was worthless.
But, it works for Nintendo. The Zelda carrot at the end of the stick. They certainly won't sell to anyone new, but they'll keep the Zelda fans loudly rallying for them, despite all the other problems the company is facing.
Give us in Scandinavia some love Nintendo!
Pass. I really just want to have the game digitally anyways. I love how my 3ds is basically a Zelda machine. I have 6 on it now and MM will be 7. I only have cartrigates for old ds games basically...and smash brod for now. I will get that digital at some point.
Yeah, US gets it better than UK for once! Now hopefully I can get my hands on one. (It will look gorgeous next my Ganondorf)
@BensonUii very cool figurine! Thanks for the pic
@Quorthon
Marketing aside, I'd rather get a special edition with something that has meaning to me from an older game I like than a special edition for some game that I may not even enjoy. "Yay, I have a statue of a character that I don't even like for a disappointing game to remind me what a mistake it was to buy."
I know it's a thrill to really get into a game and it's world when you are excited about its potential, but I prefer items that embody something that I've made a part of myself.
In my mind, I guess It's the difference between forming your own identity and letting marketing people form your identity.
Everybody enjoys gaming in different ways though, and it wouldn't hurt NOA to drum up excitement about their newer ideas and games with special editions that's for sure.
@Quorthon Who knows, maybe 15 years later Majora's Mask will be received better by a new fanbase that wasn't even alive when the game released. I personally know a few people that hated the game when it was released, but played it years later and loved it. Zelda games always have a lot of meaning to me, so I'm definitely in the bandwagon of "Yay, another Zelda thing."
But I understand your point. I'd ALSO like to see special editions for X, Splatoon, or Star Fox. Hell, I'd even take Mario Maker.
nice that US is getting something, but i'll always prefer a steelbook, especially that nice looking black one in the EU bundle.
Ah, balls. This is much better than the EU version with a pin badge and a couple of posters!
preordered from gamestop until best buy opens up.
Edit: Well since it isn't a best buy pre-order I'm glad I jumped on this today. Still hoping for a new 3ds bundle. I need an excuse to get a new xl.
Not as awesome as the Europe version WHICH I PREORDERED FROM NINTENDO UK YESTERDAY DDDDDDD
@aaronsullivan
Aren't there Skull Kid statues you can get elsewhere?
I don't know if you meant the "marketing people" comment to be a kind of passive aggressive insult (in which case, Minnesota congratulates you on your effort), but it's not about "defining me." I enjoy gaming collectibles, personally--and frankly, the Fallout: New Vegas, Witcher 2, and Kingdoms of Amalur sets mean a lot to me as those games meant a lot. Same with Deus Ex and Mass Effect 3. The Fable III set was rather lame, though. Surprisingly, the Duke Nukem Forever set had a lot of cool stuff in it. Too bad the game was so dated and bland. (Seriously, it was upstaged by Bulletstorm just a couple months earlier.)
However, your point is exactly why I want Nintendo to do more special and collector's editions. Xenoblade Chronicles was, by far, my favorite Wii game, and I very badly want a big-ass collector's edition of the sequel, and frankly, Splatoon looks so far up my alley, I want a set for it now. A little statue of the squid girl, a working squirt gun with disappearing ink mix, whatever.
I still have the original Special Edition of Majora's Mask with the 3-D label on the cartridge. I'd like a little Skull Kid myself, but I can't get past how much of a wasted opportunity this is, when NoA failed to give us the Hyrule Warriors set (a friend of mine imported the awesome Japanese one), failed to give us the Bayonetta 2 set, and failed to give us the Mario Kart 8 set. I'll get my own Skull Kid, one day, maybe, when he shows up in a line of Nintendo action figures.
At the end, though, it makes it look like Nintendo has no confidence in their modern games, and cling too desperately to these old ones. There's a part of this that also feels like they're taking advantage of Zelda fans, as the only other widely released limited edition they had recently--was another Zelda remake, but for the Wii U.
Already sold out on Amazon and Gamestop in a matter of minutes. Glad I got mine in!
@SwaveSays
I know of people recently who played Majora's Mask and hated it. Specifically, a guy I worked with at my last job was so proud of having just picked up the N64 original, and within a week was lamenting how much he disliked the game and found the time mechanic frustrating. I even warned him ahead of time, "don't expect it to be like any other Zelda game." He didn't realize how right I was.
You have a point that it may find a new audience now, as it's open-world elements have become a kind of norm in modern gaming, but the time aspect makes accomplishing them difficult. It's not like GTA or Far Cry where, for the most part, I can go accomplish those quests/tasks whenever I want, but they were specifically tied to set times. I recall a bit too much speeding up time and waiting around for tasks to become active.
The cattle abduction one was the best.
It's definitely not a game for everyone. At its core, the game is frustrating and the only Zelda title that actually requires a guide to play it. But, maybe that's why I like it so much, because it isn't the norm. The helplessness and frustration you feel as a player is exactly in line with the story itself and how Link must feel.
Hopefully, in the age of the internet, where anything you could ever want to know is available at your fingertips, people won't be surprised by what they receive. A simple Google search will easily explain that MM is not your average Zelda game.
But again, who knows? They've stated quite a few times that this isn't just a remake. They've made a point to say that they're trying to make this game accessible and playable to a wider spectrum to players, which I assume means being more forgiving.
@FritzFrapp
Agreed
@Quorthon You're taking this figure as a personal insult. A number of people like the game and it's a nice bonus for those who do. You have good overall points, but It's not that big of a deal. Let people who enjoy this game get something special.
I do wish they'd do more for other titles, particularly new IPs, but I'm not going to dog them for doing this, either.
Wow, for only $10 more this sounds like a good deal! If I can get this version then I will definitely be getting this game at launch.
I'd rather have what NoE is supplying, but I'll take it I guess.
@ericwithcheese2
I take nothing about this as a personal insult. I see it only as wasteful and misguided. To Nintendo, old games are more important than new ones, and this is not helping them sell hardware.
This is a symptom of a bigger problem, and for a game that is notoriously hated by many.
I'll preorder this, and then I'll get the pin and poster from ebay (hopefully I can find them for cheap.)
Since its already sold out at gamestop.com and amazon.com, my only hope is bestbuy.com!
They will make me and others very unhappy if this exclusive to NY store.
@Quorthon Personally i think the statue looks squashed and a bit cheap. Happy I'm getting a pin tbh.
Holy crap I need this!
@JHDKoopman Games meant to be played not idolized on a shelf.
But....But....I already pre ordered MM 3d.
I think everyone would prefer an actual wearable Majora Mask.
Seems like this Skull Kid should have been an Amiibo. They really need to get on the ball and start using Amiibo figures in special offers, give aways, bundles, and even Club Nintendo prizes. It's absolutely perfect for these sorts of things.
Hmm...not sure if I will leap at this one or not. However, I am a huge Zelda fan!
Once this is available for preorder I will do so instantly! Big fan of Majora's Mask and would love a Skull Kid Figurine to display on my shelf!
@Quorthon False. Remakes do count as a separate game. People treat the two versions of Super Mario 64/World as completely different breeds, so what's with the whole 'this is just a game from the past' attitude now?
Why can't you be happy for those who really wanted such a special edition bundle?
@Dpishere It already was. Amazon sold out as did GameStop online. You may want to check your local GameStop store or see if other retailers get it.
@ericwithcheese2, @Dpishere,
I've seen through Ninty's Twitter account to check with local GS stores tomorrow to pre-order. Best of luck...
@ericwithcheese2 Yeah I did and unfortunately it isn't available at this time. Maybe they will replenish the stock and if not, well there isn't much I can do about it.
@Quorthon Come on dude. Why are you hating on the Majora's Mask remake? This is something fans have begged for for years, and if we want Nintendo to listen in the future, it had better sell in droves.
Yes, the original Majora's Mask had some playability issues. But don't think for a second that Nintendo won't enhance the remake in order to improve playability and make it more fun, accessible, and gorgeous compared to the original. If this is half as good as LOZ:OOT 3D, it will be awesome! I'll admit that I never played the original Majora's Mask, and despite the creepy doomsday senario, I look forward to playing the remake. An accessible and highly playable port of the original game.
Lastly, if you do not like, don't buy, but don't hate on it because it's not your cup of tea. I loathe the Pokemon main series games and I also loathe stuff like Wii fit, but I don't hate on Nintendo for producing something that sells.
This looks cool, but why is it not a amiibo?
Embarrassing to admit I never got around to playing MM, even though I actually own the original N64 cart... still in shrink wrap!
(My secret shame)
I would be pretty peed off if I don't get this, not sure if my store will have it.
Well that certainly is shiny... Where is the Majora's Mask Pack info for Hyrule Warriors? It releases this month...
@ThomasBW84: I ordered one this morning from Amazon.com before this sold out this morning from both Amazon.com and Gamestop.com (including both editions with and without the guide from Gamestop). It is exclusive to Amazon.com, Gamestop, and Fry's per Nintendo's Facebook. Thanks for the early head's up this morning.
I love when Nintendo does this kind of thing.
Yay! Just pre ordered mine! I had to get the $85 dollar one with the guide though, because GS was sold out of the normal one. What evvs! I'm getting a sweet Skull Kid statue!!!!!!!!!
I wanted the steelbook case
Oh well, you can't please everyone.
@Quorthon Majora's Mask 3D is less of a sign of Nintendo caring more about old games and more of an admittance that they can't adequately support the 3DS with new titles because they are focusing on saving the Wii U. Nintendo is releasing this remake that takes little effort (reuse assets from OoT3D like the originals) as a way to fill in the 3DS's release schedule. People go on about how Nintendo has no 3rd party support, yet 3rd parties are giving the 3DS better support right now than Nintendo is.
You say you want Nintendo to focus on new games. So you would rather have Nintendo focus on releasing new games for 3DS, taking away precious resources from salvaging the Wii U? Before you mention Code Name STEAM, that game is so ridiculously niche and it has always been destined to fail sales-wise regardless of other games releasing. It could be the only game coming to 3DS until Pokemon in October/November and it would still fail in sales.
I wish it was an amiibo, but a pre-order bonus nonetheless will be great
Dang it sold out quick. Can't even preorder it!
I wanted to preorder at gamestop earlier, but they told me it's an online order only and that I would have to pay in full today if I wanted to order it. I only have 30 bucks. I'm so bummed about it.
This happened after I tried scouring all the nearby stores that carry amiibos today to try and find a Pit, and he was nowhere to be found. No figures for me today.
@Quorthon I suppose I should point out how misguided your argument is. First off, you're basing this off ONE GAME getting a Special Edition. One game is somehow a pattern of games instead. One game makes all the difference in the world. One game determines everything Nintendo thinks about.
Second, your point about this being the least popular Zelda game. What relevance does this even have? You're spouting nonsense to prove absolutely nothing but make a long post. And what data do you base this on, your own made up data?
@IceClimbers Codename Steam is niche?Darling you better have an amazing reason for saying that.Oh but Splatoon you gave that game a chance,but Code name steam not even a chance.People like you is the reason new IP'S will never be successful.
Got the limited edition with guide pre ordered at Gamestop at the last second before it sold out. Flippin' scalpers. Bunch of people on Slickdeals and CAG boasting about having bought 10+ units to resell. In fact, there are eBay listings already with 15 available pre orders to purchase, and those are already selling out. AND AT 3-4x THE PRICE!
Glad I got mine but I feel bad for the fans who wanted this and won't be able to get one because of the greedy resellers. I can understand buying 2 copies, but 5, 10, 20 copies? Come on...
After noticing that it sold out within an hour online, I went to my local GameStop hoping they had pre-orders still available. They hadn't heard anything about it, but would give me a call if they did. They were also bummed and shocked to find out that it was gone because they were looking forward to getting it today as well.
Hours later, they called and told me they had a few available to sell online, but it had to be paid in full and done within the next half hour before they were all gone. I don't think I've ever moved so fast in my life.
I think they were kinda "hush hush" about the whole thing in order to ensure their frequent customers who also adore Zelda got first dibs.
@JaxonH It's really starting to piss me off. This happens every time something new releases. Nintendo fans have to stake out shops and online stores in the hopes that we can get something before all the damn scalpers do. That's not always easy to do either because most of us, you know, work for a living.
I was only lucky enough to get this bundle because I'm a regular at my local GameStop and was fortunate enough to get a call that a few were available.
@midnafanboy Niche genre sadly. I unfortunately have little faith in the Nintendo fanbase as a whole to support the game. This site's visitors are the minority after all. Splatoon could fail too for all I know. I might have exaggerated a little too much in my previous comment. I'm sure Code Name STEAM is a great game, and one that deserves attention.
@Genesaur
Agreed.
The face...and I swear that skull kid was giving me the middle finger...was about to give it right back...
Just got mine ordered from Gamestop a couple hours ago. Did an in-store web order(same as MH4U when it was first announced) I'd say check and see if your local store can do that. they order it for you from their warehouse and it gets shipped to your home address. The only downside to it, is that you have to pay it 100% up front. I was told by a Gamestop Rep that not all stores would be getting stock for pre-orders, so the in-store web order will be the best bet for some until they sell out. Also, from what I've seen so far, Best Buy won't be getting this.
I was able to reserve it, but I had to pay full price. Which just so happened to be all the money I had on me. Thanks GameStop.
Well, guess this means I'm screwed then. I'm one of the normal people that had to work, just to come home and see that I missed out. Lovely. Thanks scalpers...
Check at Nintendo World 2 hours ago. Seem like it's first come, first serve on release with no pre-orders. I guess that can be my last resort if I can't get a pre-order at any GameStop. I hope it's not a Hyrule Warriors LE repeat on release.
Nice. I'll be downloading this, though.
@Ryno
You said "morning" three times in three sentences.
Well I would get this if it comes on release day, anyone know the chances of that happening?
@TheRegginator Scalpers will still scoop them up
@SwaveSays
Thank you so much. If I didn't read your post I would have never drove like a maniac to gamestop to get there 6 min before they close to get this. I was able to pay instore in full and ship to home. Can't wait for this!
@oats-81 Glad I could help! One less for the scalpers and one more in the hands of a Zelda fan.
Got it preordered at GameStop. Used the "in store; ship to house" thing. Couldn't get the super deluxe limited edition but I got the Limited figurine for +$10
@JellySplat Wierd. You say your Gamestop had only the expensive one? My Gamestop was sold out of the $85 version so I got the $50 which was what I wanted. I don't care though; all I really wanted was the statue. The game guide I can pick up later at my convenience.
@icedude545 nn3dsxl? A New New 3DS XL? Goddammit Nintendo!
That's cool, but when I fought against the Final boss of LOZ MM, it was crazy! 😀
Please e-mail me as soon as they add more stock, I want my hands on this one!
@Quorthon You keep going on about how MK8 and Zelda are the same games over and over, but what about madden, fifa, GTA, assassins creed, halo, call of duty, etc.... All these games play extremely similar if not exactly the same as the previous. I mean all madden does is switch around players and they release a supposed new game every year. Haven't seen a madden game yet where you can steal a car and drive into the stands yet
@rOOski187 Ok now I want to see that in a Madden game as a bonus.
Glad I didn't even bother to post in the article this morning, and just put my preorder down on Amazon straight away. Thanks NL for the heads up!
@Aqueous I hope it makes it there. I'll let you know if I hear anything about it being available there.
I'll download it on the VC if I can't get this. Never played the game.
@Revolution909 The VC version is known to be the worst version
@Revolution909 @TeeJay I disagree, the GC Zelda Collector's Edition port is the worst but they're both bad ports. Only good choice before the 3D remake comes out is the original N64 cartridge (Nintendo had emulation problems with Majora's Mask for some reason, same as why N64 games haven't come to Wii U VC yet?)
Yippee super excited now !!
I don't much like the original figurine's colors, but can't wait to see what kind of paint jobs enthusiasts will do!
@BensonUii My thoughts exactly! Why not make it an amiibo? This feels like a missed chance, even though the figurine is larger... I'd rather get an amiibo and a soundtrack than this figurine to be honest.
Cool. I check my Nintendolife everyday at 6 AM and I found out, that at 9 AM, a limited edition Majora's Mask was available for a few hours until it got discontinued for life again... Same thing happened with Wind Waker.
I will say I do still want that pin though. I'll have to hit ebay when the game releases.
Its already sold out and the game hasnt even been given a release date... fan frickin tastic! >:[
Omg I have the beat gf hands down she just got this preordered for me at our local gamestop and I thought there was no hope for me unless I went camping out at nintendo world the day before the game came out. I seriously just lucked out.
the regular bundle was available on the gamestop website yesterday for a while but sold out quick. It looks like they're only offering the "ultimate" bundle now and forcing frantic Zelda fans to purchase the fancy guide. Well played gamestop.
@rOOski187 Amen brotha'. I hate it when people try to get a way with saying crap like that. Sure, every Zelda title is the same genre, but that doesn't make it the same game! Each title has a different story, a different musical soundtrack, different characters, different dungeons, different graphics, different weapons, different bosses, and new appeal!
Yet CoD is an exception because it's a "hardcore" game >gag<.
@Obito_Sigma Check a gamestop retailer near you. They might have a couple left in stock. The sooner the better!
I too missed out on the WWHD Ganondorf figure, but it was because I waited to long. You should seriously go check in stores asap.
@joeb1kenobi indeed, that's the one I bought. I didn't have a choice. But TBH, I needed a new MM players guide anyway.
I do however HATE prima guides. I didn't check if this one was prima or not.
Anyone know what the deal is with Fry's? It's not even listed on their site anywhere. I wonder if it's in store only or something?
@JaxonH
Yeah the resellers are the ones who make these limited editions SO limited... But hey people buy it so.... Whatcha gonna do?
@arrmixer GS opened up pre orders again today online. My brother had told me to order him one if I could find one available again, and that he would pay me (he's working 24/7, no time to be checking sites constantly) if I could secure him a pre order. So today when I saw they were taking orders again, I quickly added one to my cart for him. But when I tried to check out it said my limit had been exceeded and it removed it from my cart. So apparently they are now placing a strict one per person limit, which is what they should have done from the start.
@JaxonH
Now that makes sense! Maybe a 2 preorder limit for those collectors you must keep there goodies in the box.
@arrmixer Right. I'd totally be okay with the two per person limit.
I'm a collector myself but I hate buying two of anything. I figure that I am not collecting as an investment, I'm collecting because I enjoy video games. Which means I'm not ever going to sell my collection for money. And if I'm not ever going to sell my collection for money, then it really makes no sense whatsoever to keep something in the package. So I usually just buy one and open it carefully and keep it in good condition. Same for Amiibos. I bought them because I enjoy collecting, not to make a profit. So since I'll be keeping them until I die anyways, might as well just open the package and display them on the shelf where I can get more enjoyment out of them.
That's just me though.
@JaxonH
Yeah same here brother. 😊
Well Best buy is/was selling it. I guess the facebook post was wrong?
finally north americans get something!!! that's a sweet figure, guess I need to go pre-order
This is bull crap. Majoras Mask is my favorite zelda game. I just needed 3 days to get money to put down on a preorder but guess what. IT ALREADY FREAKIN SOLD OUT OH MY GOD NOT EVERYONE CAN GO PREORDER LIMITED EDITIONS AS SOON AS THEYRE ANNOUNCED. I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS BUNDLE. I hate my life
@IceClimbers To be fair, the official name of the system is "New Nintendo 3DS", as opposed to the shortened version of "N3DS" that we all use.
