You may recall that a while back we lifted the lid on Gory Detail's new adventure title The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup, which is coming to the Wii U and 3DS eShops in the not-too-distant future.
The work of former Rare staffers Chris "Conker" Seavor and Shawn Pile, Rusty Pup is shaping up to be a truly sumptuous 2D brain-teaser with amazing visuals and a unique sense of humour - and we can exclusively bring you the first "devlog" devoted to the game.
The 30 minute video is presented below for your viewing pleasure and contains fresh footage from the "early alpha" version game, as well as a look at it basic mechanics and the level creator used to fashion those stunning stages. Enjoy!

Looks like it was meant to be played with Wii Remote controls. If the Wii U version doesn't support them, it might as well not even exist.
The bizarre steampunk fantasy setting has some really strong Alice: Madness Returns vibes. Not looking too shabby.
I'm not sure about the game yet, but the pup looks cute! :3
The game looks super interesting, but the video is badly produced, the volume is crazy low and it's hard to follow :/
is Rustypup Nintendo exclusive? or will we see it ported to other consoles/pc?
@accc It will be using the touch pad on the WiiU controller
@EverythingAmiibo Sorry you have trouble understanding us. It's a Dev log so we may jump around too much
@japfelix It will be multi-platform and staged release. There are only two of us working on it
@GoryDetail day 1 purchase for me on the Wii U. Thank you for giving it support! The game looks great!
When will the game be released?
Wonderfully bizarre!
I've been quite interested in this game, but the touchscreen controls thing gives me pause. Oh well, I'll definitely watch this when I get home.
@GoryDetail I'll give it a pass then, I love pointer controls and can't justify spending money on a game that neglects them in favor of inferior input methods.
The game looks awesome. I'm sure it will be a great and clever game. But seriously, please consider Wii Remote pointer controls. I don't hate touch controls, but I DO hate to be forced to look at the gamepad and miss the beautiful TV screen. Otherwise, I think I'll just get the 3DS version.
I always play off tv so i'm fine with touch controls
Touch controls at least means my 2 year old can attempt to play it, so that's good.
Looks so good to play at night
Looks like it could be like Zak and Wiki which I loved and completed so here's hoping.
