Who knew, I thought they only made coffee.
YES KEMCO SALE.
Finally I can get all the mediocre games that are on sale every month.
@SigmaNoire
it feels more like every week, they really should just reduce them permentely , is there a reason that its always Ryan whom posts these deals?
Monthly fandom snobbery in the comments in 3... 2... oh, I'm late.
Typical Kemco. Nintendo have a good E3 and they go and steal all the limelight with a big, never to be repeated, sale.
Why buy now when their latest game will be copy/pasted tomorrow.
@nhSnork I mean, they make bad games, people in the comments should inform others they make bad games
@DeclanS98 yes, labeling disliked games "bad" and believing in the social mission of educating uninformed sheeple online are among the most typical (and most obscene) symptoms of fanship. What else is new?
So, are any of these games good?
How is this news?
@nhSnork I don't understand how is not wanting to see these games promoted more than anything else on the eshop when there are many games that get no attention at all a bad thing ?
Quality of these games aside, they are on sale literally half the time, they get new sale every month and they are filled to brim with microtransactions.
If you like them that's obviously fine, but do they deserve bi-weekly article ? I think not and I don't think my opinion is "fandom snobbery"
@nhSnork 1) Sheeple. 2) They’re bad games man, pick another fight.
@SigmaNoire highlighting sales (on whatever) is at least the kind of info it makes sense to come to a VG newsblog to, and, regardless of subject persistence, an infinitely lesser evil than various "reviews" and "rumours NL is recurrently guilty of. If you want something allegedly overshadowed to be known to more people, you could at least use these posts' comment sections to namedrop THOSE games instead of crapping on others. If you insist on the latter, your "I don't think my opinion is snobbery" is in for bad news. No one with a shred of will plans their budgets on a complete stranger's "this game sucks" tirades anyway, and in all irony, such attempts to counter NL's behaviour only lead us over some of the other rakes they step on.
And MTX in Kemco's titles couldn't be more token if they tried - they're of the skip-the-grind kind and few sane RPG players would pay money to skip an almost inalienable part of the gameplay.
@DeclanS98 1) yes, pretty sure that's how I spelt it. 2) you must be new here.
@nhSnork I’m one of those people who thinks it’s odd that Kemco seems to get a bespoke post, including game descriptions, every time it holds one of its regular and frequent sales. Whereas a developer like Atlus, which is responsible for some of the best RPGs on the 3DS, doesn’t get flagged when it holds a sale.
I like news posts informing me of sales - I am still annoyed I missed out on the flash sale of Return of the Obra Dinn - but the curation is somewhat peculiar.
Guess it just goes to show that Kemco marketing does a better job than some others.
@way2easy I wouldn't call Asdivine Hearts "bad" necessarily. From what I played, I thought it was an ok RPG. I haven't played any others by Kemco though.
It's obviously not Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest so if you go in expecting even remotely that kind of quality, you're going to be disappointed.
@Krull yeah, for all we know, they may just have someone diligent enough to mail NL and maybe other such sources every time they have a sale.😆 I'd rather companies didn't rely on the twilight zone of fandoms to such an extent, but if it produces the results they seek... shrug
@Krull Spot on.
It does seem like Kemco sales are reported here on NL whereas other publishers sales (apart from the big hitters - Nintendo, Capcom, Ubisoft) are rarely mentioned. It might just be that Kemco have a good PR unit and they do have a lot of sales.
@nhSnork Agree to disagree, personally I'm fine with negative opinions, reviews and rumours and I'm not fine with microtransactions with games that are not at least 16+. Anyway I think @Krull was able to express my point better than I would ever be able to.
I'm a big fan of Kemco games and think they're solid games better than anything Square enix has ever made. Glad to see them on sale.
....
Wait sorry what? It's not april fool's day? Oh my bad, I thought it was.
Hit-Point’s games are usually pretty good and have interesting ideas. It’s... kind of a shame they got stuck with using Kemco as a publisher for so long. ...More-so their later stuff though after they got a better translator, I can’t really recommend Bonds of the Skies.
Of the games here, Dragon Sinker is the best. Reminds me a bit of old dragon quest. It’s also actually hard if you turn up the difficulty. Especially right at the beginning- you’ve got some freedom as to which direction to go in, and you can get curb-stomped by tough enemies if you go the wrong way. I kinda miss when that was more common...But maybe I just like to suffer.
Consider this blurb for the game Archlion Saga - "Too many games in the dusty shelf waiting to be played? No problem, this pocket-sized RPG provides you an adequate experience!" What the actual **** NLife. You're better than this! Aren't you?
Kemco Origins of Chaos Digital Deluxe Steelbook Special Chaotic Collectors Edition is 75% if you preorder by Sunday!
