Update: All games suggested in the comments (and more besides) have been added to our GBA database and should now appear below. Get rating your favourites if you'd like to see them in the top 50!
It's nearly twenty years since Nintendo launched it's successor to the all-conquering granddaddy of handheld video game consoles. The Game Boy Color might have added, well, colour, but it wasn't until 2001 that Nintendo delivered a generational leap forward — from 8-bit to 32-bit — with the mighty Game Boy Advance.
Switching orientation from vertical to horizontal made space for a wider screen and a more comfortable grip, and the power boost made it possible to play games with SNES-quality visuals on-the-go. The dim screen of the original model was eventually addressed with the clamshell Game Boy Advance SP update, and the final iteration of the GBA hardware is perhaps the most desirable piece of kit Nintendo has ever produced — the totally impractical and undeniably sexy Game Boy Micro.
With the console's 20th anniversary on the horizon, what better time to look back its impressive library? We're asking you rate your favourite GBA games out of 10 to help compile our reader-ranked list of the top 50 GBA games ever. Much like many of our system and series lists, this will feature a dynamic ranking based on the User Ratings of the games in our game database and will therefore be subject to fluctuations even after publication.
To rate any GBA game in our database, simply start typing the title into the handy search bar below, click the star to bring up a rating of 1-10, and click the score you feel it deserves — job done! If you need a reminder on a particular game, feel free to click the game title and check out our review and screenshots (if they exist). You can also scroll through the pages picking games out as you go, although the search bar is a lot more convenient!
Hang on! Game X is missing! How could you?! Yes, it's true that our GBA database doesn't feature every single GBA game released, but you'll find the majority of the biggest titles below. If there's an incredible game missing that you feel is a genuine top 50 contender, though, feel free to nominate it in the comments and we'll see about adding it as an option.
Go GBA, it's your birthday! It sure is one heck of a system — strip out all the SNES ports and you've still got one of the finest console libraries ever. Let us know your thoughts on the two-decade-old console below, and feel free to nominate missing games, too. We'll see you again for the results soon...

We need a new entry for Advance Wars on Switch.
Kuru Kuru Kururin!
Where are Sheep and SabreWulf ? Probably a lot of others too
Ecks V Sever was a good FPS. Got a sequel and a film.
Yeah, there are many many missing games, oh well, voted on the ones I have.
Kuru Kuru Kuruin and WarioWare were my favourites. Perfect handheld games!
The Disney's Magical Quest trilogy SNES-ports are missing and they are pretty nice games, sporting wireless coop even.
The best GBA imo are still Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, The Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap and Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga.
I voted on the ones that I have owned before.
Why is The Minish Cap all the way in the T's when A Link to the Past & Four Swords is in the L's? I almost panicked when I didn't find TMC after ALttP.
Don't make me choose between my children
I can only vote on the few I played from the 3DS Ambassador program back when that existed, plus Zero Mission I played on Wii U VC. Although I think a good majority of the 3DS Ambassador GBA games I never played, because of those good ol SD Card Blocks
So many missing games, yet you did include the weirdo Gundam Puyo Puyo crossover. Lol what was the criteria for putting games on the list?
Where is the Donkey Kong Country trilogy? The main reason I got a GBA!
My beloved GBA collection consists primarily of the beautifully lo-fi 3D hot garbage that never gets any recognition. Very few of my favorites are listed (big shoutout to Colin McRae Rally 2.0 though).
Smashing Drive
LEGO Drome Racers
Duke Nukem Advance
Super Monkey Ball Jr.
Killswitch
Stuntman
Driv3r
Top Gear Rally
Ecks Vs. Sever series
Payback
Big Mutha Truckers
Star X
The list goes on. These games are very much a product of their time and perhaps deserve their relegation to the waste bin of gaming history. But damned if they aren’t fascinating to behold. It’s amazing how developers took such radically different approaches to squeezing 3D out of the GBA.
This list looks very short. Lots missing I can imagine.
Some great great games in there. Hopefully they'll shine amongst all the Mario and Zelda ports.
Metroid games are at the top for me. I still revisit them regularly (...on my PSP shhhh 😏).
game and watch for the win!
Mmmm Castlevania nom nom nom
NINJA APPROVED
They weren't great, but I still have nostalgia for Mariokart super circuit and Pac Man Collection.
Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland and Game and watch Gallery advance were great!
I was thinking about getting a GBA (with screen mod) to play the best games from the GB, GBC + GBA, but I wasn't sure if a New 3DS XL for 3DS + DS games would be a better choice. The Switch was the first (at least partial) Nintendo handheld I have owned.
Which game library is better?
They should have added GBA games to the NSO library, or at least the titles that were put up for us on the ambassador programme.
@Clyde_Radcliffe Yeah Warioware was a perfect fit for handhelds.
@gb_nes_gamer Yeah. Ecks V Sever was a weird thing. Apparently the game was adapted from the movie script. Game was good, lord knows what the film was like!
@MarioBrickLayer 3DS + DS have better libraries.
Castlevania Circle of the Moon, Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance and Castlevania Aria of Sorrow are MASTERPIECES!!!
@MarioBrickLayer I’ve owned them all, and as an adult I would tell you to focus on hand comfort rather than library. I got a backlit GBA, thinking it would be great! But then I realized that I have big, weightlifting hands now instead of small, teenager hands and it was just way too tiny to play on.
In terms of library, I would research and see which games you like best. There’s some overlap, if you buy a GBA, you can also play GB and GBC. If you get certain NDS’s, you can play GBA but not GB/GBC. If you get a 3DS, you can play NDS, but not GB/GBC/GBA, but you get access to the shop to buy emulated games. If you go that route, get the NEW 3DS family.
Best way to figure it out: go on YouTube and type top 100 GBA games or whatever, then watch the video. Most take only 10 minutes or so, and you can of course watch in double speed if time is an issue.
Why isn't Boktai on this list?! >:c
I liked plenty of GBA games but that one was a memorable game for me.
Wow I don't think there is even 50% of the gameboy advance games here not a very good poll when so many are missing
It's bizarre seeing games I've owned from beloved franchises like Final Fantasy IV Advance, Tales of Phantasia and Super Monkey Ball Jr not on here.
Also I know its considered a flawed port but I absolutely loved Phantasia.
Wario Land 4 is by far the best platformer on the console, and one of the great overall.
And Wario Ware Inc is to this day the best Wario Ware game.
Golden Sun. Number one for me.
I only had Mario Kart Super Circuit and Link to the Past. The rest of my gaming funds went on GameCube and PS2 titles. I did use it to play Four Swords on the GC though.
@Joeynator3000 Much agreed!! And in compliance with with the article, I genuinely believe that Boktai is a top 50 contender that deserves to be on the list.
They're missing Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon which is one of my favorite games.
I feel that Sonic Battle should be on here
Why is this GBA masterpiece not on the list? It's the closest to a full 3D triple A title the GBA would ever get on the platform.
Didn’t see Steel Empire on the list
Definitely the Golden Sun games! I still have them!
Off the top of my head (apologies in "advance"):
1. Final Fantasy VI Advance
2. LoZ Minish Cap
3. Advance Wars
4. Metroid Fusion
5. Super Mario Advance series (no.2 my fav)
6. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series (no.3 my fav)
7. MK Super Circuit
8. Wario Land 4
9. Warioware Inc.
10. Metroid Zero Mission
11. Mario & Luigi Super SS
12. Warioware Twisted
13. Pokemon Ruby Version
14. Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
15. Golden Sun
16. Castlevania Aria of Sorrow
17. Street Fighter Alpha 3
18. Tekken Advance
19. Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland
20. Sonic Advance series (1st one fav)
21. Mario Golf Advance Tour
22. Mario vs DK
23. FF IV Advance
24. F-Zero Maximum Velocity
25. Astroboy OF
Honourable mentions: Spiderman Mysterio's Menace, Rayman Advance, Virtua Tennis, FF Tactics Advance, other Tony Hawk Pro Skater Underground, SSF II Turbo Revival
EDIT: Argh, forgot Advance Wars 2 which would be high up in there.
To help with the missing games, Dragonball Z: Buu's Fury is the last of the Legacy of Goku games despite having a different title. There is also a Martian games based on the movie that released in that time and surprisingly, is actually a pretty good game. Oh and Dragonball Z: Super Sonic Warriors is also pretty good and seems to be missing too.
For this list, I'd like to nominate Doom II and Sims Bustin' Out.
I was still pretty young during the GBAs reign so I didn't play much besides Pokemon and Sonic. Most of my favorite games for the systems I discovered much later. These are my favorite 'deep cuts'.
Mother 3
Megaman Battle Network
Ninja Cop / Ninja Five-0
Kuru Kuru Kururin
Astro Boy Omega Factor
Hard not to put advance wars number one. Just suited the system perfectly and enjoyed the battles a lot more than fire emblem for some reason.
1. Rainbow Six Rogue Spear
2. Metroid Fusion
3. Metroid Zero Mission
4. Tony Hawk 3
5. Mario vs Donkey Kong
6. Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
7. Chu Chu Rocket
8. Advance Wars
My #1 GBA game isn't even on your list
🤨😵😲😳🧐😒😟😕
Rhythm Tengoku #1
Not exactly my favorite system ever...
I suppose my favorites on the system would be: Metroid Zero Mission, Fire Emblem 6 and Castlevania Circle of the Moon.
A lot of the systems best games are (inferior) ports of SNES games.
I've recently been playing The Sims: Bustin' Out on GBA and have fallen in love with it all over again. It's an absolute travesty that it was never released in Australia (though the Nokia N-Gage port was released in mid 2004; and part of me is tempted to ditch my "smart" phone and procure an N-Gage ). The novelty of a Sims-like experience (being the very first handheld installment in The Sims franchise) was almost revelatory. Unfortunately, I had to play it via "other means" upon its launch in late 2003 due to the lack of local release. I didn't have a GBA either, but I would have sprung to buy a GBA for that game alone.
I eventually snagged a cheap used copy on eBay a few years ago, though grabbing a sealed copy is very tempting.
Its sequel, The Urbz: Sims in the City, was in a lot of respects, more of the same, with some subtle QoL improvements that make it a better game in an objective sense, but for its (minor) faults, I still prefer the original (the GBA version wasn't released here either!!!). The art style, music, and setting didn't quite capture the magic of the first game, but it was still a great sequel and absolutely worth playing for those who loved the first game like I have. At the risk of The Urbz going out of print, I bought a Nintendo DS about a month or so after its Australian launch, being my first dedicated video game console of any kind. The fact that EA was releasing two completely different Sims games later that year ("The Sims 2") for the GBA and DS also sealed the deal in my decision to invest in Nintendo's fat new handheld.
The Nintendo DS installment of The Sims 2 (serving as a sequel to The Urbz: Sims in the City on GBA/DS) transitioned to a full 3D engine with some returning characters and similar gameplay elements. Like The Urbz, it was an improvement in some respects, but there were some questionable decisions made in respect to others. Either way, I was grateful to have a full 3D Sims experience that I could take with me anywhere. I would have been content if EA continued to commission similar games that recycled the same engine for the life of the DS, but sadly they royally screwed up subsequent installments due to their greed and contempt for their loyal customers.
The GBA installment of The Sims 2 was a totally different experience but had a similar art style to the last two games. Unfortunately, this game fell completely flat and lost sight of all of the elements that made the last two games so good. It's not a "bad" game in the sense that it isn't buggy or broken (from my experience with it anyway) but it simply isn't fun, engaging, or in any way memorable. Those interested ought to stick with the DS game instead.
Wanted rate these games too: Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury, Dragon Ball GT: Transformation, Beyblade: G-Revolution, The Simpsons: Road Rage.
why won't Nintendo sell me copies of Golden Sun and Advance Wars on a modern portable? Why is this so much to ask?
Missing so many games including;
Rebelstar: Tactical Command,
All the Spyro Games,
Monster Rancher 1&2,
Mech Platoon,
and Scurge: Hive.
My favorite GBA games are two:
K-1 Pocket Grandprix 1 & 2 because i love Kickboxing games in Chibi looking. 😍
Golden Sun, and pray for a new release!
Ahh, the GBA, home of the hidden gem sequels that I feel are better than the games that get the most love. FF5 Advance and Castlevania: Circle of the Moon are my favorite games in their respective series, but never get enough love.
@Beatrice This one will be voted by the public, so who will you moan to then?
@gb_nes_gamer The game was based on the movie, but the game came first and the movie turned out to be one of the worst movies ever.
Yeah, there's no result for Sonic Battle. There's lots of games I love on GBA, including Mario Kart Super Circuit, Puyo Pop, Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi Kaznapped (hey, it was a good cartoon tie-in game), it disappoints me I can't rate Sonic Battle, one of my favorite games on the system.
@Damo, NintendoLife definitely needs to add some of the games being talked about in the comments, this is the first system poll I can remember where a lot of top 50 contenders are altogether missing from even having a chance.
Here are my scores based on what I've played enough to form an opinion. There's plenty of classics I haven't played that are missing from my list. I'm harsher on some games simply to spread out the scores a bit more:
10:
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Metroid: Zero Mission
Mother 3
Advance Wars
9:
WarioWare: Twisted!
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames!
Wario Land 4
Golden Sun
Metroid Fusion
8:
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Four Swords
Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland
Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
Donkey Kong Country 3 (needs to be added)
7:
Sonic Advance
Orbital (needs to be added)
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge
6:
Super Mario Advance
Konami Collector's Series: Arcade Advanced (needs to be added)
Game & Watch Gallery 4
It's Mr. Pants (needs to be added)
Donkey Kong Country (needs to be added)
5:
Donkey Kong Country 2 (needs to be added)
Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World
Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island
DK: King of Swing
Dialhex (needs to be added)
4:
Super Mario Ball (Mario Pinball Land)
Banjo-Pilot
F-Zero: GP Legend
Densetsu no Starfi 3
Boundish (missing, but no loss)
Pac-Man Collection
3:
The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer (missing, but no loss)
Cartoon Network Collection Videos Volume 2 (missing, but no loss)
I think these deserve to be added:
Sabre Wulf
Donkey Kong Country 2
@MatoFilipovic amen! Wario land 4 is one of my top gba games. Though I'm not a fan of the wario ware games. Idk just couldn't get into them. Anyway Filipovic? What is that Serb, Bosnian?
@victordamazio @Blister I never did see the film but read at the time it wasn’t great. It has 3.7 rating on IMDB (over 19,000 votes).
I never played the sequel. Not sure if it was better than the first game. I wasn’t expecting an FPS on the GBA.
I feel like Super Robot Wars Original Generation 1 and 2 really needs to be on here. I couldn't find 'em. I'd easily give those 8 stars.
Update: Looks like they added them! Nice! Really loved those games back in the day. Still wish the PS2 versions got a localization.
I always loved minish cap the most, but I think the banjo kazooie games deserve some love too.
My favourite GBA games are probably Mario Kart Super Circuit and the third-generation Pokémon titles.
A few missing games from the database (some of which have been mentioned above):
I had Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia on the GBA back in the day, I doubt either of them would trouble the top 50, but then Super Circuit will probably make it in and that is terrible.
@Geostyle Close, Croatian
A link to the past with the link cable was my favourite game/experience on the GBA. Four swords was so fun.
Made friends for life when I was a child.
Played the metroid games too and they were a blast. Super mario advance 2 is amazing(Super Mario World).
What no Riviera: the Promised Land? Great game!
Super Robot Wars 1 & 2, Zone of the enders Fist Of Mars are pretty mutch my most liked games on the gba system.
Astro Boy Omega Factor and Double Dragon Advance. Man good times back then.
Playing Mother 1 right now!
Back when Castlevania was good, F-zero was still a thing and Golden Sun looked like a franchise with a lot of potential... Ah, the good ol' days...
No love in the comments for Double Dragon Advance, that game is insanely good.....call yourself gamers!
Castlevanias and Metroids top my list
Wot no Ecks v Sever? FPS that blew me away at the time and really made GBA fee next gen. I have so much love for the GBA, hiding under the duvet with a clip on light playing Sonic Advance, Golden Sun and Wario Land 4. Would pay £50 for a GBA collection on Switch without blinking...
Missing Tales of Phantasia, even though it appears in the article's photo! I'd rate that a 10.
And Final Fantasy IV Advance too!
@gb_nes_gamer From what I recall, the Ecks Vs Sever game sequel was at least as good as the first. They had pleasingly lo-fi visuals that my brain compensated for the longer I played - a blur of pixels really started to look like an enemy combatant after a while.
Amazing system, Gradius Galaxies is one of my favourites on the GBA. I love this system almost as much as SNES.
Boktai really shouldn't have been omitted.
Mother 3 despite not releasing in the west, but I did play the awesome fan translation rom on my computer.
Just finished Mother 3 today, easily best game on the gba. Only other game rivalling it is final fantasy tactics advance, so I hope that does well too.
Wow starfy actually got some representation. I am truly proud
Currently paying Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance for the first time and enjoying it much more than I ever expected. Metroid Fusion is my favourite GBA game and Zelda Minish Cap is also brilliant except for its final boss.
I know it isn't a top 50 contender, but weird to include Legacy of Goku I&II, but not Buu's Fury. The third game was so fun
Racing Gears Advance, and Rebelstar Tactical Command should be in the database for sure.
@Gavin Lane
Please add Final Fantasy Advance IV
For me, GBA is a very ho-hum system. The first games that come to mind for me are good but not great. Decent Marios, decent Kirbys... but it does have an excellent Wario Land and two excellent Metroids. So that's something.
Wow, I really let myself go with licensed titles on GBA.
Here's what I couldn't find/and should be on your db:
And here are the nostalgic anime from the 00s:
Probably could fit a Duel Masters game in here but I don't know any.
Surprisingly y'all have Secret Agent Barbie which is a great stealth action game, for what it is.
@HamatoYoshi good call on Double Dragon. I missed out on that one back in the day, but finally had a chance to play it roughly a year ago. It is a fantastic game as you say.
Yeah, Castlevania and Metroid are probably the best things on GBA. Aria of Sorrow and Metroid Fusion are probably my top picks from those. I loved the GBA back in the day. I was so happy to go back to sprite-based 2D gaming as I was already having less fun with consoles then after the PS1/Saturn/N64 days. Other top GBA games for me in no particular order: DragonBall Z Legacy of Goku 2 and Buu's Fury, Double Dragon Advance, Gunstar Super Heroes, Ninja Five-0, the Mega Man Zero series(2-4 especially, though part one was still very good).
I never could get into Astro Boy: Omega Factor no matter what I tried. It loses steam pretty fast for me. While not a top-tier game, Metal Slug Advance is still good and worth a mention as it surprised me. The boss fights are a highlight.
Surprised to see Phantasy Star Collection, Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon, Super Monkey Ball Jr., and F-Zero Climax missing here. Those are all easily some of the best games on the platform, especially Shining Force, which imo has always outclassed Fire Emblem (and is probably the best Genesis game too).
Edit: Monster Rancher Advance 2 is missing, too. It's a fantastic game for the GBA.
But where’s Ratatouille?
Rayman Raving Rabbids is not on here but I think it is good even though I haven't played it. It isn't even on this website at all for this port.
Yeah there are quite a few missing here but still this has most of all my favorites. Right at the top would be the Metroid and castlevania games, they were tiny little marvels that to this day I can get lost in. I liked the fire pro games that are missing here.
@MarioBrickLayer Get a New Nintendo 3DS XL for 3DS and DS games (plus, you can download a great majority of the GB and GBC essentials), and get a GBA SP (backlit) to play GB, GBC, and GBA carts. With just those 2 systems, you can play literally every physical game from GB, GBC, GBA, DS, and 3DS.
If I were you and had to pick just one, I'd go New 3DS XL without a second thought. The library is gigantic and full to burst with high quality games.
Another option might be an Anbernic RG350M or RG351V if you don't mind emulation. Both of those systems are of excellent quality of build and performance, and can run everything from Atari 2600 to PlayStation 1 absolutely perfectly.
Imagine this: Nintendo announces GBA Classics Vol 1 for Switch, which includes:
-SM Advance 1 and 2
-Metroid Zero Mission
-Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland
-F-Zero Advance
-Advance Wars
-Zelda ALTTP/FS
-Wario Ware
-Fire Emblem
-DK Country
And more volumes coming soon...
I can still remember when the GBA came out.
The local newspaper had the best review of the GBA hardware.
I don't think he liked it because it looked a Game Gear so clearly Nintendo had fallen behind and was only then catching up to Sega's decade old and discontinued hardware.
@brunojenso that was my first though entering the poll! How many fond memories... It has been my first GBA game
@Ricube Yeah even today the game remains unique and simple fun. And remains quite a challenge in later stages! I'm not such how I got my cart but it was quite early on – it really is a mystery how I came to own it. Maybe the box art attracted me.
The Crash and Spyro games aren't on the liiiiist? Blasphemy
@KonoRobinMaskDa676 Crash XS was the one I had but at least one of the 3 titles should be in here somewhere, indeed
I nominate the urbz sims in the city. Such a fun rpg spinoff of the sims.
Where's 2 in 1 Dr Mario and puzzle league
I only played the 2-3 games my sister had on her GBA and later the must plays (Minish Cap, Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission etc.) on emulators and Virtual Console.
One of my sister's games was a weird mix of Bomberman and Pokémon (I think it is called Bomberman Tournament and it isn't on the list). It was pretty good a sold 6 or 7/10.
Not a single Yu-Gi-Oh! game on this site? Oh... I had more than five of them, and two of them I'm still playing... these days in an emulation, but yeah...
https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Yu-Gi-Oh!_Worldwide_Edition:_Stairway_to_the_Destined_Duel
Sims on GBA was sweet too. ...Really. Also because it was something different. More like about the living. Like, a third person life simulation of a teen.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sims_Bustin%27_Out
@alexybubble @Magician Do not forget about Golden Sun 1 and 2!
@Altina The GBA Yugioh games just did not feel like proper digital versions of the Yugioh TCG!
Going to give F-Zero Climax 100 out of 10!
...searching...
Wait...where is it?
Anyone that loves beat-em-ups and hasn't played Double Dragon Advance is doing themselves a massive disservice. Absolutely brilliant, far better than the arcade versions.
Dunno about you all, but I've been wondering why both Yggdra Union and Riviera: The Promised Land are left behind. By that, both are good (although I prefer the former)
Great storyline, unique tactics (specifically Yggdra Union), and although the PSP version has done better work for this (except for Ledah's English VO there), I still believe they deserve a rate-up.
@GamingDude800 Have you played that one I mentioned? I really don't see how it could be better than that. You can play against nearly all the important characters from the anime (while eg the PC games only had Seto, Yami Yugi OR Joey, depending on what game you picked...), get a booster pack for winning, it has the ghouls from the Battle City arc, it has challenges, events and tournaments, the game is even acknowledging the rules. What some other games (like Dark Duel on GBC or eg Reshef on GBA) or the anime (at least in the earlier seasons) didn't. Imo best YuGiOh game still. If you have a different opinion feel free to explain it to me.
this brings back memories, especially Golden Sun and Golden Sun the Lost Age... hopefully (fingers crossed) it'll be re-released on Switch along with other GBA games
whoops, i forgot them Mega Man Battle Network Series haha.. and Pokémon games, too
I loved Boktai! Totally forgot about it and the sunlight gimmick was awesome. I actually went outside! But, being in the UK, I got precious little sun...
I noticed they now added the first Disney's Magical Quest but not the superior second and third games.
Mother 3 though, I highly recommend it if you haven't played it
I had played (and absolutely adored) the first 2 Megaman Battle Network games. I was aware that they made sequels, and some had the whole red/blue version pokemon gimmick, but I never played those.
The sheer number of actual Battle Network games they released astounds me. .......How? Why!?
Yeah, that’s right, I rated Metroid Zero Mission higher than Fusion.
Oh my god... yugioh gba?!?
I forgot, but that's how I learned about ygo and how to play it.
The only GBA games I owned were
-Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge
-Fifa 05
-Finding Nemo
-The Incredibles
-Pokemon: Fire Red
-Shark Tale
-Shrek 2
-Street Fighter II
There might be another but I don't remember.
GBA was my first handheld. Got the Tribal SP edition and it still sits on my shelf on display.
Kuru Kuru Kururin was the dog bogs
Thank you guys for adding Sonic Battle, rated it. Definitely one of my favorites, even if story mode can be a bit grindy at times. Still a fun fighter based in the Sonic universe with a good story, fun multiplayer, and arcade-style challenge mode.
Cool, rated Spyro Season of Ice, Crash XS (apparently Huge Adventure in US) and Nitro Kart now they've been added. Other than that I really only had Mario, Pokemon and Zelda tbh! Always wanted to try Golden Sun, though.
@ChromaticDracula I think that's actually the general consensus. Most people prefer Zero Mission over Fusion.
(Personally, though, I prefer Fusion just by a bit. Both are top notch and better than Super,
IMO).
@sketchturner I feel like I see a lot of love for Fusion, which I agree is a great game, but my personal complaint with it is it letting you know exactly where you need to go each step of the way. True, this is the nature of this particular game given the story, but it took away that feeling of being lost. Otherwise, excellent game! I just prefer Zero Mission and it's simply because I deduct a point or two from Fusion for that linearity.
I just beat Zero Mission a few months ago and now I want to go play it again So many good moments.
Thanks for adding Sonic Battle!
Bruce Lee return of the Legend 7
Wing commander 6
Splinter cell all three 6's
Lots more missing as GBA had 1000's of games, alot of dirge though unfortunately.
The Gyuakuten Saiban trilogy is missing!
V-Rally 3 missing. Best racing game on GBA
@Poodlestargenerica All the Sims games are there.
Ah such good memories. For the power it had I think the GBA was the best utilized handheld ever. Loved the original one, even with a wonky wormlight.
I might be in the minority but I didn't even know or remember that there was a Max Payne GBA game. Looked it up and man it looks rough but reviewed not horribly. Makes we think that Nintendo fans have been indoctrinated to accept inferior ports for a very long time.
I nominate Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2. It's just as good if marginally better than its predecessor, but It's still solid enough to deserve a spot alongside the original.
Here's some more suggestions to add to the catalog:
Kim Possible
Kim Possible 2
Kim Possible 3
Sonic Pinball Party
Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
TMNT
Racing Gears Advance, one of the best retro racers ever!
If one of the Metroid Games doesn’t win I will eat my phone
@KonoRobinMaskDa676 funny, I modded my brothers 3ds and hes a high one piece fan. I added the one piece gba game as a joke but he said it was really fun lol
@beazlen1 if mother 3 doesn't win I will be disappointed in people not playing the fan translation
I love these rankings. Even if they're not the most scientific, its just fun to run thru a games library rating all the games I own.
My personal Top 10, off the top of my head (ignoring ports like ALttP and Mario Advance) (haven't played some enough to rank it, like Castlevania and Golden Sun)
1. Advance Wars
2. Fire Emblem
3. Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones
4. Metroid Fusion
5. Metroid Zero Mission
6. Mega Man Zero 3
7. Mega Man Zero 2
9. Pokemon: Fire Red
10. Pokemon: Sapphire
10. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2
Where are the NES Classics !!! I love ❤️ the classics!!!
@KonoRobinMaskDa676 I feel like the gba had plenty of license games that were great. My personal flawed favorites are the Spongebob Movie game, Kingdom Hearts Chain of memories and turek Evolution
I personally can't imagine the GBA without Advance Wars and Golden Sun!
No Tekken on the list.
Wario's greatest achievement better be high on the list!
Could you add Disney's Aladdin GBA to the list? I loved that game as a kid and played it many many times. Definitely a hidden gem on the console, I feel.
Earthworm Jim 2 would be a good addition to the list imho
The only game I wanted to add is: dragon ball advanced adventure
It's a great DB Game, probably the best on GBA!
