Topic: Metacritic and Wii U games

So Metacritic has this annoying habit of not counting Wii U reviews.

Injustice: Gods Among Us has 63 Xbox 360 reviews.
Metacritic only counts the score if there are 4 reviews minimum. It took forever to count Injustice: Gods Among Us for the Wii U for this reason. Eventually, after a very long time they reached the goal. These days it has 5 reviews.

Now you may think that this is life, people are less interested about the Wii U version and it doesn't have a lot of reviews.

But that's not the case.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist has 43 reviews.

The Wii U version has 0.
But all these reviews specifically mentioned Wii U - for example, IGN: "Reviewed on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360"

So the problem is that a reviewer reviews the Wii U in its review, and Metacritic simply ignores it.

Once Nintendo Life, Nintendo World Report and a couple of others review the game, it may reach the 4 threshold but just barely.

Don't go on metacritic.

Yeah, I noticed this with Disney Infinity, too. Even though Polygon specifically shows the Wii U version gets an 8, metacritic completly ignored it.

From what I understand metacritic is based on crowdsourced review collection. If Wii U reviews aren't going up maybe it's because people can't be bothered to or forget to link these reviews to the Wii U.

Another reason why you shouldn't let Metacritic influence your game purchases.
